PSL 2023 team captain named to be Shaheen Shah Afridi

An unbiased commission headed by technical committee chairman Haroon Rashid selected Shaheen Shah Afridi as the Lahore Qalandars’ captain for the PSL 2023 season.

Sana Mir, Bazid Khan, Daren Ganga, Nick Knight, and other analysts served on the panel.

The PSL 2023 team has picked Shaheen Shah  Afridi as captain.

The team, which consists of players from the Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, Multan Sultans, and Peshawar Zalmi, does not include a single Quetta Gladiators player.

Before selecting the team, the impartial panel took into account a variety of T20 cricket-related factors.

This team must be able to compete against any T20 side on any given day, in any location, and under any conditions.

It must possess consistency, effect on the side and entire game, and the finest team combination imaginable.

After helping his team recover from a crushing defeat to Multan Sultans in the qualifier by defeating Peshawar Zalmi in Eliminator 2, Afridi led Qalandars to the top of the points table with seven victories.

Unbeaten Innings

He later scored 44-run unbeaten innings in 15 balls and grabbed four wickets, helping his team win the PSL and earning him player of the match honors.

Afridi has now made it to the exclusive side for the fourth consecutive year, as the PSL teams’ proposal embraced in 2019.

The roster includes Abbas Afridi and Ihsanullah, players with the Sultans who won the Emerging Player and Player of PSL 8 awards, respectively.

Like the Multan duo, Mohammad Haris and Azam Khan were selected for the tournament team for the first time.

The team comprises five men from the Sultans, who finished last, two from each of the Qalandars and Zalmi, and one from Islamabad United and Karachi Kings.

Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam were selected as the openers, and Haris, Rilee Rossouw, Azam, and Kieron Pollard make up a solid middle order.

Imad Wasim, an all-arounder selected for the PSL team for the first time, is followed by wrist spinner Rashid Khan, three fast bowlers in Afridi, Ihsanullah, and Abbas, and all-rounder Imad Wasim.

Although the first three times were alongside Rizwan, who was selected for the tournament’s team of the year three times, Babar has been chosen as an opener four times in the last five years.

Shaheen Afridi attributes Lahore Qalandars’ PSL victory to excellent teamwork.

Tournament’s Championship Game

Shaheen Shah Afridi, the captain of the Lahore Qalandars, praised his team’s success over the Multan Sultans as a magnificent Pakistan Super League (PSL) triumph and the product of excellent teamwork.

After the Qalandars’ victory late Saturday night, Shaheen stated, “We kept our nerves and finally triumphed.

The Afridi-led squad became the first to successfully defend their title after defeating Sultans by one run in the gripping PSL championship match at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

Shaheen said the final was fascinating because both teams fought intensely and believed they might win.

Shaheen Shah Afridi talks about his determination to produce for the team during the tournament’s championship game.

Afridi spoke of his resolve to consistently deliver for his team in trying circumstances during the tournament’s title game.

Afridi continued, Multan played exceptionally well, but as David Wiese provided an early breakthrough, Rashid responded at the right time.

The captain said he delivered flawless strokes when his side needed them most and maintained the proper length to secure wickets.

He also thanked the team management for its support and his parents’ prayers for him and his performance throughout the match.

We had a successful start. Nonetheless, there are always pivotal moments. According to Shaheen, we had eight or nine choices with the ball.

While Rashid Khan reintroduced Qalandars into the game, the losing team’s captain, Mohammad Rizwan, said that they had planned to sustain the run rate from the beginning and succeeded.

With two wickets, Rashid Khan ended the game. By the 19th, we were still in the contest.

Although Khushdil and Abbas performed admirably, he said, Winning and losing are inherent parts of the game.

Penultimate Over

Going the way we were, we would arrive quickly. But their bowling performed as expected, given their reputation. It occurs in cricket, he said.

Qalandars’ quick bowler Zaman Khan remarked that his “heart was hammering in the penultimate over.”

My captain instilled confidence in me and advised me to do my best without worrying about failing.

Since I knew that hitters anticipate yorkers, I also bowled a few slower deliveries.

Zaman credited our management for giving us free rein and supporting us so that we could give it all we had on the pitch.

In Najam Sethi’s opinion, PSL has higher digital ratings than IPL.

  • According to Najam Sethi, the PSL had a digital audience of over 150 million compared to the IPL’s 130 million.
  • PSL contributed to the economy of the nation through Sethi.
  • He claims that we have given the federal government Rs 700 million in taxes.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has fared better than the Indian Premier League (IPL), according to Najam Sethi, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s management committee.

During a press conference preceding the title game, Sethi asserted that the PSL had a digital rating of over 150 million. In contrast, the financially successful IPL had a rating of 130 million.

Digital Grade

Let’s discuss digital. PSL was only halfway through, so I enquired about our digital grade. PSL is receiving a rating of over 11, compared to Najam Sethi’s show, which used to earn a 0.5 rating on television.

So, when it’s finished, it will either be 18 or 20, he remarked.

Digital viewers totaled more than 150 million. It is not a minor matter.

Sethi also discussed how Pakistan’s economic status has improved due to the PSL.

“PSL has helped to keep the country’s economic wheel turning as it created job opportunities and assisted in the growth of the tourism, hotel, airline, and road transport industries,” he stated.

We contributed Rs. 700 million in federal taxes, Rs. 500 million in sales taxes, and yet another Rs. 500 million in provincial taxes to the government.

It should be noted that Lahore Qalandars became the first team to win consecutive PSL championships on Saturday when they defeated Multan Sultans by one run in the thrilling final.
