During the first Eliminator of the eighth Pakistan Super League (PSL) season, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Islamabad United and won the match.

Peshawar Zalmi eliminates Islamabad United from the Super Event in the HBL PSL 8 Elimination.

In the first elimination match, held at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore, Zalmi had set United a target of 184 runs.

They will now compete against Lahore Qalandars for a place in the championship game. Tomorrow, the exact location will host the second Eliminator.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz returned to the dugout after scoring ten runs, while Azmatullah Omarzai gave Zalmi an early wicket during the run chase.

Hales and maqsood’s partnership gives the team the upper hand with 115 runs for the second wicket.

But, with some solid hitting, Alex Hales and Sohaib Maqsood attacked the opponents. Together, they scored 115 runs for the second wicket, giving their team the upper hand.

Aamer Jamal, who clean-bowled Sohaib Maqsood, finally broke the century stand after the right-hander had amassed 60 runs in 48 balls, but not before.

As Maqsood left, Zalmi didn’t look back and quickly established control of the game through shrewd bowling and consistent wicket-taking.

Azam Khan (2) followed suit and returned to the dugout without making a meaningful impact. Salman Irshad expelled him after beating him for pace.

Soon after, Hales followed as Jamal struck a yorker to destroy the English batter’s stumps. With nine boundaries, the right-hander scored 57 runs in 37 balls.

Faheem Ashraf was run out when Jamal struck him directly after he stumbled while attempting to return to the crease.

Shadab, the captain, struck an unbeaten 26 runs in 12 balls but could not carry his team to victory.

Irshad, the best bowler for Zalmi, had figures of 2-18 in four overs.

Although openers Babar Azam and Saim Ayub made an explosive start with 60 runs in just 4.4 overs, Zalmi later held to 183-8 in 20 overs.

But, after Ayub, who scored 23 runs in 16 balls, mishit a pull shot and caught at mid-on by Faheem Ashraf. Pacer Mohammad Wasim Jr. gave United a much-needed breakthrough.

Babar hit 64 runs in 39 balls with the help of 10 fours and appeared to be in excellent form.

During his outstanding effort. The Zalmi captain also set a new T20 cricket record for the fastest player to reach 9,000 runs.

The Zalmi captain needed 35 runs before today’s game to reach the milestone, which he completed without difficulty thanks to some outstanding shots.

With a quick cameo of 34 in 17 balls during the middle overs, Mohammad Haris also boosted the innings. He struck two maximums and three fours.

It appeared that Zalmi would quickly post over 200 after a solid start. To ensure that wasn’t the case, United mounted a spirited recovery in the final five overs, limiting Zalmi to 35 runs while losing four wickets.

The United captain took two wickets, including the prized Azam, but he also let up 40 runs in his four overs.
